Cortonain Tuscany, where Frances Mayes wrote the book “Under the Tuscan Sun”.

Great for strolling, shopping, museums, and boutique shops. Cortona is one of my favorite hilltop villages. Lunch on your own at your own pace. I’ll tell you where to meet me for a Prosecco Party before we head back to the villa. Lunch on your own.

Cooking Class in the Hills of Umbria

Cooking class in the hills of Umbria, you will learn the secrets of Italian cooking, making four types of pasta and sauces. Afterward, enjoy the fruits of your labor on the terrace while the birds chirp and glasses of wine flow—another great day.

Deruta

Deruta, Your First stop at Maioliche Artistiche Tassi, where you will witness the entire process of creating gorgeous hand-painted pottery from start to finish. The colors and patterns are treasures that speak to you, inviting you to take them home!  Afterwards, lunch at Taverna Del Gusto in Deruta. Luciano, the owner, takes good care of us, and his food is de-lish!

Citta Della Pieve

This small, beautifully preserved medieval town in central Italy is right on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. Saturday is open market day, and you will shop and wander along with the locals. Fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses, meats, clothes, etc. Lunch on your own.

• You will squish grapes like Lucy!Bring your costumes! You will also enjoy a vineyard tour to learn about the wine-making process and enjoy lunch accompanied by wine tasting.

**Olive Harvest the week of October 20-27**You will experience picking olives alongside the locals and enjoy a “Harvest Lunch” with everyone.  I love helping the locals pick their olives. Afterward, we will visit a Frantoio, an olive pressing plant, where you will see the process from start to finish.  Your taste buds will thank you. Another great day meeting the locals.
