Spello Apartments

The structure is over 500 years old. It is a medieval structure which we have completely restored with all the modern amenities keeping the medieval character intact. The entire property has new plumbing, heating, electrical, A/C as well as all new kitchens and bathrooms. All apartments have in-unit washing machines.

The house has now been divided into four residences and a large garden which is available to all our guests. All of the residences are elegantly furnished with “antique style and rustic” furnishings. Some of the residences have fireplaces or woodstoves. Our apartments provide also fast internet connection (you need your laptop to use it).

1 Bedroom / 1 Bath bi-level unit with full kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room and balcony; panoramic views; can sleep 4 people total; adjoins Apt.#2 Tiberius for additional capacity; full access to garden & deck area adjacent to the building.

It has all modern amenities with old medieval charm. Because of its outstanding views and superb sunsets, this romantic getaway – which is also the owner’s “pad”, has been called the “Honeymoon Suite.” It has its own small balcony overlooking the Roman Properzio Towers and street access to the lovely garden below.

Sleeps 6. This vaulted large 3 Brs.- 2 bath stone apt. is on two levels. It was restored with the help of our local architect, has all the modern amenities while preserving its genuine medieval ambiance. Tiberius used to house the family’s “cantina” – cellar – where the family used to make wine and press olive oil. Both bedrooms have great views.

Beautifully furnished, with original vaulted ceiling, Tiberius is the “hidden treasure of Spello”. For larger parties, Augustus and Tiberius can be opened to each other. It has street access to the garden below.

Sleeps 4 people. Like Tiberius, this apartment was also a “cantina” where the family’s wine was kept to age. This large one Br. local stone unit has been restored with all modern amenities and yet emphasises its medieval character. It is a large cellar built into the natural red rock.

A glass enclosed loft serves as the master bedroom above the beautiful living room. The large vaulted kitchen is furnished with rustic furniture and hand painted ceramics from nearby Deruta. Direct access to the large garden is from the oversized kitchen.

For larger parties, Mark Anthony and Cleopatra fuse together to create a contiguous space of approx 1300 sq.feet.

Sleeps 4. Two in double bed and two in couch. This unit is as intriguing as its name, it is a “monolocale” – one large open space which comprises a bedroom, a living room space – a small kitchenette complete with most amenities – a small dining room area. The ceiling in the green tiled bathroom is carved into the rock.

For larger parties, Mark Anthony and Cleopatra meld together. For more details see Mark Anthony Apt.3.

Access to the garden is through a street gate.
