Vacation Rental in San Venzano, Umbria, Italy
Casa Castello is set in the small Umbrian ‘Borgo’ of Rotecastello in the hills close to the town of San Venanzo. The village has changed little over the years, and families have lived there for generations. It boasts an excellent restaurant owned by a local family, where the food is typically Umbrian and all home made by the family Nonna (Grandmother). Underneath the restaurant is the workshop and display area for Francesco Rossi who is a talented Mosaic artisan. He makes lovely items, large and small, which are available to buy.
The house has an entrance hall with cloakroom. On the first floor are two double bedrooms and a shower room. Magnificent views from the rear bedroom over the terrace to the hills beyond.
Leading off the hall is the comfortable main sitting room with T.V/DVD player and a generous supply of books and DVD’s for your enjoyment.
The second sitting room has a sofa bed and games for those who may prefer Scrabble to DVD’s!
Leading down from the lounge, stairs take you to the large fully equipped dining kitchen with doors onto the fabulous terrace. The terrace is large and comes with dining furniture, barbeque and sun loungers.
It is 10 minutes to Marsciano, a busy market town, which provides easy access to the E45 and all the major sites of Umbria. 40 minutes will find you in the beautiful city of Assisi, one of the major attractions of this region. A visit to the magnificent basilica which hosts frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue is a must!
Life in this region is lived in the ‘slow lane’. Food, wine and good olive oil are the mainstay of this area. Time to relax, recharge your batteries and just take things easy!
This little corner of Italy’s ‘green heart’ can help you do just that.
